Symptoms of Stress

worksheet

Many people have difficulty recognizing that they are experiencing stress, or fail to make the connection between their symptoms and their emotions. Education about the symptoms of stress can help therapy clients, groups, and classrooms recognize the importance of self-care.

The Symptoms of Stress handout briefly defines stress, and differentiates between acute and chronic stress. Symptoms are neatly categorized as physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral.

Use this worksheet as an aid during stress education, or as a tool to help therapy clients identify their own symptoms. Improving awareness of stress symptoms and long-term consequences can motivate clients to prioritize relaxation and self-care.
