Coat of Arms / Family Crest

Use the Coat of Arms / Family Crest printout as an artistic prompt. Ask your client to draw, paint, or use any other medium to represent something about themselves in each of the shield's quadrants. The banner beneath the shield can be filled with a name that summarizes their personal coat of arms.

We suggest creating a prompt for each quadrant that's tailored to the individual or group. For example, a client dealing with family issues can depict their role in the family, something that makes their family special, a family tradition, and something that they hope for in their family's future.

We've had great success with this art therapy project in substance abuse and anger management groups, especially with teenagers. However, adults can definitely enjoy this project too!
