Coping With Bullying

worksheet

When kids are being bullied, it’s hard for them to know what to do. Do they confront the bully? That can be scary or dangerous. Do they tell someone? If so, whom?

The Coping With Bullying worksheet accompanies our digital storybook, The Bullied Bear. In the story, Bear learns how to deal with a school bully. This handout serves as a take-home reminder of Bear’s coping skills, which include:

  • Walk away
  • Stand tall and proud
  • Tell an adult

Review each coping skill with your client and consider using the following discussion questions:

  • “What have you done to try to cope with bullying?”
  • “What skill is most helpful in dealing with a bully? What is not helpful?”
  • “Who are the adults you can talk to if you’re being bullied?”

Afterward, it may be helpful for your client to make a list of their trusted adults.
